"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:7
Roses are known to be a cultural symbol of love but more than that, they are one of the most resilient plants which is why I truly admire them. They are persistent and persevere in difficult circumstances reminding me much of 'agape' (Greek word for "love") spoken of in this chapter.
Genuine agape "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." I will say this - to love in this way is completely contrary to our flesh. It is impossible to produce this type of love in and of ourselves. I find it amazing that we have the capacity to love "because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). It doesn't look perfect, but by the power of God and His Spirit, He is enabling us to live out sacrificial love and be a reflection of Christ in us. Love always persists and perseveres - it never gives up. It keeps bearing, believing, hoping, and enduring through all things.
May this necklace be a reminder of God's great compassion for you.
May you receive His free gift of grace and walk in agape.
