"Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:7
Roses are known to be a cultural symbol of love but more than that, they are one of the most resilient plants which is why I truly admire them. They are persistent and persevere in difficult circumstances reminding me much of "agape" (Greek word for "love") spoken of in this chapter.
Genuine agape "bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." I will say this - to love in this way is completely contrary to our flesh. It is impossible to produce this type of love in difficult circumstances in and of ourselves. What's amazing is that a love like this is possible. It may not look perfect, but by the mercy of God, He has enabled us to love boldly by the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us. "We love because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19). Love always persists and perseveres - it never gives up. It keeps on bearing, keeps on believing, keeps on hoping and enduring through all things.
May this necklace be a reminder that God has called you further and deeper into love with Him and others.
